    Attend the 4th Regional Conference of the ISTM (RCISTM4) in Miami, March 9-12, 2010. The Conference will be conducted jointly as the II Congreso Latinoamericano de Medicina del Viajero and take place just before and during the 14th International Congress on Infectious Diseases. Hope to see you there.

    • Training and Education in Travel Health
      Interested in further training and education in travel medicine? This list has twenty programs in seven countries.
    • Professional Education
      Future issues of NewShare will provide a new feature, JournalWatch, an annotated bibliography of new and noteworthy travel health articles from peer-reviewed journals other than JTM.
    • Publications
      The impact factor for Journal of Travel Medicine has risen from 1.048 to 1.492!, an outstanding achievement... The first Expert Reviews of Evidence Bases for Clinical Practice have been published.
    • Examination and Certification
      The Certificate in Travel HealthTM (CTH®) exam in Budapest attracted 232 candidates... The exam will now be given annually.
    • Journal of Travel Medicine
      The time required to process manuscripts has been substantially shortened... Two new programs, Early View and Fast Track, will further shorten the time. Two Expert of Evidence Bases for Clinical Practice have been published, both about traveler's diarrhea. A third one, on measures against mosquito bites will follow shortly.
  • Expert Opinion Case
    A 38-year-old female presents to your office with a positive tuberculin skin test (TST) of 12 mm at 48 hours. She was born in Mexico and had Bacille Calmette-Guerin (BCG) vaccination in childhood. She is opening a home daycare center.
